Our app operates as a trade credit and ledger management tool for your Shopify store. To provide this service, we process the following information:

• Customer Data: We access names, email addresses, Shopify Customer IDs, and tags to manage customer credit limits, track ledger entries, and assign active tag groups.
• Order Data: We read order data, including prices, outstanding balances, refunds, and financial status, to calculate credit utilization and maintain an accurate ledger.
• Store Data: Basic store identifiers and settings necessary to install and perform authentication required by Shopify.

Note: We store application-specific data such as ledger entries, credit limits, and app settings securely in our database. Additionally, some operational data (such as customer tag groups) is stored within your Shopify merchant account using Shopify Metafields.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is strictly used to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the functionality of the Trade Credit app (e.g., tracking order balances, updating credit limits, processing backfills).
• Process and reconcile financial transactions such as order creation, payments, and partial refunds to maintain accurate customer ledgers.
• Respond to merchant customer service and technical support inquiries.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data across different merchants or to external third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Trade Credit employs robust security measures to protect your data across our infrastructure and your Shopify store.

• Our Database: We securely store your shop session information, app settings, customer credit limits, and order ledger entries to ensure fast and accurate calculations for your credit management workflows.
• Your Shopify Account: Additional data, such as active customer tag groups, is stored directly in your own Shopify merchant account via Shopify Metafields to seamlessly integrate with your store's native features.

In compliance with Shopify's requirements and global privacy laws (such as the GDPR and CCPA), if you uninstall our app, or if a merchant or a customer requests data deletion, we will ensure all relevant data stored in our database and your Shopify account is purged or anonymized within the mandatory compliance window.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and services (such as transactional email providers database hosting, and analytics infrastructure) to facilitate our application. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

We are dedicated to safeguarding your data. Information stored in our database is protected using industry-standard security protocols, and data stored in your Shopify store via Metafields inherits Shopify's bank-grade security and compliance standards.
